I am offering an opportunity to practice yoga at Wollongong hospital. I am going to teach an open yoga class once a week. I think this is a great opportunity for me to bring my passion for yoga and teaching into my workspace and share it with my coworkers. In a busy hospital environment we so often neglect our self care and so we end up with less and less to offer to our patients. By bringing yoga into the hospital I'm hoping to make it easy to access a class, and have chosen the timing so staff on an early shift can still take part before needing to be on duty. 

The classes I will be running will be based on Vinyasa Flow style with some faster moving sequences to start to open up the body balanced with some concentrated focus on areas that get tight through the working day, especially lower back, hamstrings, hips and shoulders. We will close with a short relaxation practice and then bring the focus back to the day ahead.

The classes will be held in the overflow recovery area which can be accessed from level 2 without the need to go through sterile areas or to change. I suggest you wear clothes comfortable to move around in. We generally practice yoga with bare feet, but it is advisable to bring some socks as well as a warmer layer in order to stay comfortable during the relaxation. 

If you have a yoga mat then please bring it along with you. I do have a couple of spare mats that I will bring along with me each week. I will also bring any other equipment like belts or blocks we may need for the class. 

I have attached a file on general yoga etiquette for those who have never practiced yoga before. It was written for a studio environment, but gives you a good idea of what to expect.
